Internship at Harian Disway: From Lack of Writing Skills to a Reliable Content Writer

I once wrote about the Kanjuruhan Tragedy commemoration and reported a collaboration event between Sidoarjo UMKM and Hotel Aston, attended by the Regent of Sidoarjo, Mr. Subandi. It was a proud moment to interview him, even if just briefly.
I was also actively involved in press conferences and training sessions of Persebaya Surabaya. During these events, I interviewed their head coach, Paul Munster, and team captain, Bruno Moreira, in English.
I feel happy because I can apply my English skills that I learned in college directly at work.
"Bahasa Inggris sampeyan apik mas," or in English "Your English is really good, dude," one of the Liga 1 Indonesia officials told me, a compliment that made my day.
Days of sitting in front of a laptop turned into field assignments around Surabaya. Free meals during reporting events were just a little bonus. Haha.
As time passed, this internship experience taught me many valuable lessons. Even though the mentors were strict in guiding me, I felt significant improvement in my writing skills.
We all need guidance, criticism, and continuous learning to grow. Learning from those with more experience is the key to leveling up! (Muhamad Farrel Radia - English Language and Literature student at Universitas Airlangga)
